seamless image fidelity and High-Frequency Range (HFR) support up to
60p for 4K/UHD-SDI to HDMI 2.0 conversion requirements. The Hi5-4K-
Plus can also produce HDR metadata with compatibility with HDMI v2.0a/
CTA-861.3. Hi5-4K-Plus offers an easy-to-use monitoring connection
from professional 4K products via Quad 1.5G-SDI, Quad 3G-SDI, or Dual
3G-SDI outputs to new monitors with HDMI 2.0 inputs, for low-cost
monitoring for 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 60p professional workflows.
Connectivity
The latest generation of low-cost 4K monitors uses an HDMI 2.0
connection, which enables the extension of a full 4K signal via a
single cable. Ideal professional 4K workflows utilize four (4) SDI
cables to carry the full resolution image, making it a problem to
incorporate these newer displays. Hi5-4K-Plus is a simple-to-use
converter that connects these two worlds for seamless integration.
Audio
Extends up to 8-channels of embedded audio in the input SDI signal
seamlessly into the HDMI output, enabling your audio to always be in
sync and to be easily played back on the connected monitor.
4K and UHD
Ideal 4K signals use a resolution of 4096x2160 pixels while UHD
signals use 3840x2160. This difference can prevent the utilization of
some monitors either in full 4K workflows or UHD workflows. Hi5-4K-
Plus can recompense for these resolution differences, enabling the use
of the UHD monitors in 4K productions and vice versa.
The unit also supports High Frame Rate (HFR) inputs. 4K/UHD signals at
50/60 fps can be fed into the unit and output at up to 60p for viewing
with suitable HDMI 2.0 capable displays.
HDR
HDR provides the capability for displaying a broader and richer range
of colors, much brighter whites, and much darker blacks than
traditional signals allow. Thereby making your imagery have a more
‘dynamic’ look and enables for communicating natural true
to life colors to your audience.
Hi5-4K Plus provides support for the user’s 4K/UHD/HD HDR
pipelines to HDMI Compliant displays by producing HDR metadata with
HDMI v2.0a/CTA-861.3 Compatibility.
HD Support
Hi5-4K-Plus still works without 4K to convert HD-SDI to HDMI. It
routes a single HD-SDI signal input to display as an HD resolution
HDMI signal, similar to AJA's Hi5-3G Mini-Converter.
Universal Power Supply
All AJA Mini-Converters includes a universal power supply that has
international plug connections for use around the world.
Compact and Ultra-slim
AJA Mini-Converters are portable enough to fit in the back of a rack,
behind a monitor, or directly on a camera rig. A locking power
connector can't mistakenly pull loose, and an optional P-TAP power
cable enables for battery power in remote locations.
