HDMI multiviewers have become a standard piece of equipment in the broadcast & digital signage industry. A device that can come in various sizes and capabilities, HDMI multiviewers of today have evolved to simple quad-split systems to massive scale projects that combine routing and monitoring functions. It’s easy to imagine how difficult and challenging it is to find the right multiviewer if you don't know the ins and outs of your application.

There are a few things to consider when searching for the correct HDMI multiviewer solution. Before purchasing, take note of the number of multiviewer HDMI input sources and displays that you are using. HDMI multiviewers are designed to take multiple multiviewer HDMI inputs and usually have 1 HDMI output.  For example, an HDMI quad multiviewer has 4 inputs and 1 output, but a more complex application may require 16 HDMI inputs to 1 or 2 outputs.  In some cases, HDMI multiviewers have I/O slots for expansion if more inputs are needed.
