Displayport/Mini displayport is a digital display interface primarily used to connect a video signal to a display such as a PC. Displayport can also be used to transmit audio, USB, and other forms of data. The design of the displayport interface was to replace VGA, DVI and FPD-Link. What’s great about displayport is that it is backwards compatible with VGA and DVI through the use of adapters. Displayport/Mini displayport switchers are employed in applications where PC’s including Apple are found in the home, office, data center, hospital or a movie studio. The displayport interface is also known as the Ultimate Digital Connection for the fact that in can achieve high-bandwidth digital imaging and audio.
