Company Background
Founded by Hagai Gefen as Gefen Systems in 1995, Gefen first advanced the computer connectivity and professional audio/video markets by developing computer peripheral extension solutions knows as the ex-tend-it Professional Series. By extending KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) accessories away from the CPU, professionals could work in complete silence, ideal for editing audio/video content. Though originally designed for application in post-production studios where computer noise interfered with production, the extenders were useful in many other industries including presentations, digital signage, broadcast and others. The Gefen ex-tend-it Professional Series grew to encompass switchers, splitters, converters and cables as the product line evolved.
