How to Effortlessly Convert Analog to HDMI

Do you still own a VCR or vintage game console like Nintendo or Atari? Well, we have a way to inject some life back into those investments. HDMI isn’t just for today’s Blu-ray players, HDTVs, digital media players, and game consoles. Older analog products can easily convert to digital HD with the right device. We want to show you how easy it is to convert and upscale your old analog AV signal to HDMI.

 

Step 1

Choose a composite to HDMI converter. For the purpose of this video, we’ll be utilizing the tvONE 1T-VS-622, which is a composite / S-video HDMI converter & scaler that supports Ultra HD & 4K. Make sure the converter can scale to a full 1080P resolution. Also, externally available audio can be embedded into the output HDMI signal via separate Toslink and Analog Stereo inputs.

Step 2

Connect one end of your composite cable to the output of your DVD player and plug the other end to the input of the tvONE device.

Step 3

Take one end of your HDMI cable and plug it to the output of the tvONE device and connect the other end to your HDTV.

Step 4

Plug in the power of the DVD player, tvONE device, and HDTV to a power strip and turn on all devices.

Step 5

Go to the video resolution setting on your HDTV and make sure it is outputting 1080p or your desired resolution. The tvONE device supports SD, HD, and VESA up to UHD/4K resolutions.
