Video can be transmitted using one of many different methods. Within each method, several different options often exist as to cable and connectors type.

The most popular methods for video transmission:

  • RCA  (Less Than 20ft)
  • COAX (Up to 750ft)
  • UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair, Up to 2000ft)
  • Fiber Optic Cable (More Than 2000ft)
  • Telephone (Unlimited, Typically Used for Long Distance Transmission Only)
  • Wirless Video (Up to 30 Miles Line of Sight)
  • TCP/IP (Ethernet, Unlimited)
  • Wirless Ethernet (Up to 30 Miles LOS)
