Gefen introduces new family of DisplayPort solutions that are designed to connect and integrate displays and computers for optimal performance.
The new Gefen DisplayPort Booster doubles the distance of any DisplayPort cable and can also be daisy chained for reaching longer distances. This small device is located between two DisplayPort cables and expands the range of video signal travel. A combination of any two DisplayPort cables with maximum total length of 100ft can be used with this Booster. This device accepts the high resolution signal from the source and sends it over the next cable to the display with no audio/video quality loss.
For distances longer than 100ft Gefen recommends to use DisplayPort Fiber Optic Modular Extender. This system consists of sender and receiver units and uses a single strand multi-mode fiber optic cable to send video with resolutions up to 2560×1600 with audio. Signal can be transmitted for up to 1000 ft and maintain the total integrity. The extender is a great solution for long-range applications in the field or in the studio.
The new DisplayPort Splitter by Gefen takes a single computer input, splits it four times and sends the signal to four monitors at the same time. On all four monitors high resolution video up to 2560×1600 is supported.
The DisplayPort Detective is a little, handy gadget that provides a constant signal sync between display and source, ensuring that users have the correct settings even when video signal travels through the switch or after turning on and off. This device stores EDID and continuously transmits it to prevent the necessity to reboot the computer in order to generate video in the display.
