ISE 2017 Atlona Premieres Problem Solving Solutions for 4K HDR Systems

The increasing demand for 4K and HDR video has led Atlona to unveil two new versions of their commercial integration problem-solving designs that deliver compatibility to emerging 4K HDR systems and displays.

At this year’s ISE Showcase, Atlona will introduce the new Etude Sync (AT-ETU-SYNC) EDID Emulator and an Audio Converter (AT-HDR-M2C) for extracting and downmixing multi-channel PCM, Dolby®, and DTS® audio from HDMI sources.

A Closer Look

The Etude Sync renders EDID emulation, and Hot Plug Detect communication among HDMI® sink and source devices. It identifies and solves signal integrity issues linked with connections related to cabling. The unit can resolve compatibility quandaries among HD source and destination. The Etude Sync records HDCP compliance at the source and the sink. EDID communication is manageable via the source by delivering EDID from the display or the Etude Sync’s memory.

The Etude Sync is excellent for AV system troubleshooting as well as assuring consistent performance. For the sake of convenience, the Etude Sync receives power via USB through a laptop, the included power supply, or any free USB port.

The AT-HDR-M2C is a new design for extracting and downmixing multi-channel PCM, Dolby®, and DTS® audio from HD devices. Applications requiring playback of multiple channel source content over displays, whole-house audio systems, and distributed audio HDR systems are ideal commercial and residential scenarios for the HDR-M2C.

Features include HDMI input plus pass-through, stereo downmixed audio over HDMI, two-channel analog unbalanced audio, and TOSLINK digital audio outputs. Compatible formats include all Dolby and DTS formats with the ability to de-embed HDMI audio with or without connection to a display or any other destination. The AT-HDR-M2C is also equipped to handle EDID management plus audio volume and bass/treble controls, all available via Ethernet through AMS (Atlona Management System), web GUI, or any 3rd-party control system.

The Etude Sync and HDR-M2C are scheduled to begin shipping as early as April 2017. Integrators can specify, purchase, and install with certainty knowing these products are upheld by Atlona’s amazing 10-year limited product warranty.
