Gefen To Announce New Digital Connectivity Solutions at NAB 2012

The Gefen company, a provider of digital connectivity solutions is announcing an advanced line of digital connectivity integration, distribution, automation and extension solutions at National Association of Broadcasters show in Las Vegas. The line-up of the products that are designed to provide optimum ways of enhancing audio/video systems for high quality performance, will be shown in booth 2020 of the South Hall at this year’s NAB show.

Additional product premiers include:

The new 32×32 Modular DVI Matrix, that offers the ability to customize matrix inputs and outputs, will appear at the NAB for the first time. This device can switch up to 32 video sources to any 32 displays in a one-to-one or one-to-many configuration using four 8-input DVI slots, that are available for purchasing separately or in any combination. For your optimal output up to four 8-input DVI slots can be installed. Optional ELR extension modules for DVI, that are using copper or fiber optic cables, are specifically designed for this modular matrix switch. CAT5 cable extends signal for up to 100 meters, and fiber optic cable reaches up to 500 meters. Other new products are:

DVI Extenders over Fiber Optics

The DVI RS-232 Extender over Fiber sends DVI with RS-232 for up to 300 meters through the same strand of multi-mode fiber optic cable. The DVI-FM-15 delivers DVI for up to 500 meters over a single strand multi-mode fiber. You can send dual link DVI for up to 500 meters over two multi-mode fiber, using DVI-FM-2500. The DVI-3600HD can extend DVI together with USB 2.0 for up to 500 meters while using single strand of multi-mode fiber cable.

3GSDI Audio Embedder and De-Embedder

With 3GSDI Audio Embedder users can select from up to four independent AES/EBU digital audio sources and insert the selected signal into the 3GSDI output. Extracting audio from 3GSDI source and output it as one of four digital AES/EBU audio streams can be done with the 3GSDI De-Embedder.

HDMI Matrix Switchers

The new 8×8 HDMI Matrix Switch FST (Fast Switching Technology) can switch 8 HDMI inputs to any or all HDMI outputs. HDMI Matrix w/4 ELR/POL provides full cross-point routing between 8 sources and displays, and gives users the ability to connect four displays locally and extend four displays  for up to 100 meters, using ELR (extra long range) Technology. Gefen’s POL (Power over Line) Technology allows sending enough power to receiver units over the same cable, eliminating the need to power them in the viewing area. The 8×8 HDMI Matrix Switch w8 ELR/POL can extend signals for up to 100 meters using one CAT5 cable for each location.
