4K resolution and Ultra High Definition is the new 1080p! The alteration from 1080p to 4K/UHD will take years to consume while many are barely learning to future proof their AV systems. The influx of mentions about four times more pixels than 1080p has given our industry players a tune they can dance to. Designers, Engineers, Owners of companies and other businesses in our industry have to be a few steps ahead regarding leveraging new technology and introducing new components. With that in mind, our team has an exclusive preview of a new device from one of our partners.
Introducing the AT-UHD-PRO3-66M dual-distance HDMI to HDBaseT 4K/UHD matrix switcher from Atlona Technologies. The AT-UHD-PRO3-66M is a new HDBaseT beast that is a 4K/UHD matrix switcher. This advanced matrix switcher provides PoE (power over Ethernet) for receivers that include an option for an analog audio breakout. A great new feature that adds great value to the AT-UHD-PRO3-66M HDMI to HDBaseT 4K/UHD matrix switcher is flexible HDBaseT routing. Users now have the option to send UHD signals up to 100 meters (328ft) extended distance and 70 meters (230ft) long distance.
Let’s get more in depth with the AT-UHD-PRO3-66M. Atlona’s new 4K/UHD matrix switcher has six HDBaseT outputs with dual-distance transmission; two for extended distance (100 meters) and four for long distance (70 meters). Atlona has also designed the AT-UHD-PRO3-66M for bidirectional extension for RS-232 and IR control with remote. Atlona understands that everyone has a budget, and the option for distance adds value to address the needs of an installation that needs to meet budget. There will be two receiver options for the switcher, the AT-UHD-EX-100CE-RX for 100 meters and the AT-UHD-EX-70C-RX for 70 meters.
The AT-UHD-PRO3-66M adheres to the latest content protection specification that is currently HDCP 2.2. Compatible with UHD displays and sources, the AT-UHD-PRO3-66M will boost your AV system’s playback devices, 4K/UHD streaming services, and upcoming technology improvements. The flexibility of this unit provides control including TCP/IP, RS-232, and IR options with 3rd party control systems. The AT-UHD-PRO3-66M is set with a GUI-based configuration using an integrated web server that provides status reports for HDCP, EDID, and I/O routing. An added feature allows the web GUI fast configuration of internal settings and troubleshooting from a smartphone, tablet or a PC in the field. One other thing we need to address is the independent volume control providing easier integration with zone control systems. Many amplifiers don’t provide mute, volume or equalizer options to cater the sound for each area, however, the AT-UHD-PRO3-66M will let you do this for each de-embedded audio output. I’m sure you’ve got questions, give us a call, and we’ll do our best to answer and assist with your application.
