Comparison of DVI to Mini DisplayPort converters from Atlona Technologies and KanexPro

Today we are comparing two Dual-link DVI with USB to Mini DisplayPort converters made by Atlona Technologies and KanexPro. These units can convert signals from any Mac or PC computers with dual-link DVI output to a digital signal via a Mini DisplayPort connector. They both deliver HD resolutions up to 2560×1600 and integrate audio using USB.

The USB pass-through on C247DL can work perfectly with the iSight camera, and provide power to the adapter. AT-DP400 also uses USB as power source, which eliminates the need for external power supply.

The AT-DP400 specifically designed to support iMac 27-inch and iMac 27-inch LED that have resolutions up to 2560×1600. Connected monitor can be used as main display or as an extension of a desktop used as an additional screen.

The C247DL can transfer audio through USB to the built-in speakers of the Apple LED Cinema Display, since DVI does not support audio. Now users can listen to their favorite songs, watch movies or video-chat with friends.

Full EDID management on AT-DP-400 allows storing EDID data in the unit to provide the connection between the display and computer at all times.
