InfoComm 2015 is near and manufacturers are steadily preparing to get ready for the big show. The Super Bowl for manufacturers in the AV industry, we can be sure to see the latest and most innovative products from every manufacturer. We were fortunate enough to get the inside scoop on one of Atlona’s premiere products, the AT-UHD-CLSO-824, a 4K/UHD 8×2 Multi-Format Matrix Switcher with dual HDBaseT and mirrored HDMI outputs. This unit will be featured at InfoComm 15 at the Atlona booth, but we’ll give you an early breakdown of its capabilities right here, right now.

The AT-UHD-CLSO-824 showcases advanced multi-format matrix switching to the CLSO series. This presentation matrix switcher is developed as a solution for small offices and classrooms. The variety of inputs supports remote sources at conference room tables and lecterns via HDBaseT transmission. The inputs that are included with this unit are three Ethernet-enabled HDBaseT, four HDMI, and one multi-function analog video inputs. The outputs consists of two Ethernet-enabled HDBaseT outputs, each with a mirrored HDMI output. In addition, the CLSO-824 has an audio output matrix mixer and two balanced stereo audio outputs on 6-pin captive screw connectors. Let’s make sure to not forget that this unit can also support 4K/UHD @ 60Hz.

As mentioned, the CLSO-824 utilizes HDBaseT and offers three Ethernet-enabled HDBaseT inputs. What this translates to is a unit that is designed to be flexible with Atlona’s HDVS-200 series of HDBaseT transmitters that offer HDMI and VGA inputs with Ethernet or the HDVS-150 series that has HDMI and VGA, but without Ethernet. The CLSO is also compatible with Atlona’s new UHD-EX Series of HDBaseT extenders for HDMI signals that included control signals or without. The HDBaseT outputs on the unit offer extended distance of AV signals up to 328ft.

The CLSO-824 serves as a centerpiece for systems with a complex audio and video signals that are and must be dedicated to specific zones. Third party control systems are compatible with this unit via TCP/IP, RS-232, and IR control. Also, PoE or Power over Ethernet is supported for remote-powered HDBaseT receivers making integration easier and cost effective.
