Connect the Kanex iAdapt 20 to your Mac and enjoy both video and audio from any Mac that has a Mini DisplayPort and USB. The iAdapt 20 is a versatile and simple plug and play solution that allows you to watch your favorite movies or media on an HDMI enabled display.
The iAdapt 20 combines the Mini DisplayPort video and USB audio signal from the Apple Macbooks. This adapter works by integrating the Mini DisplayPort video source and the USB audio source into HDMI output through a special USB Audio Decoding Chip.
| ||Automatic EDID and HDCP compliant |
This cable has an auto–EDID feature built-in that adapts to maximum resolution depending on users display. If a user has a 720p HDTV, it will read the EDID and adjust Mini DisplayPort output automatically and vice versa for 1080i/1080p displays.
| ||Transform Your USB Port Into Audio |
The iAdapt 20 is capable of drawing audio from your USB port via its USB Audio Decoding chip. This means that even though your device has no audio out port as long as it has a USB port then you can listen to your favorite songs and movies on your display.
| ||High Definition Video |
View your movies and pictures in crisp clear high definition. The iAdapt 20 fully supports 1080p digital video from your Mac to your HDTV.
| ||From Mini DisplayPort to HDMI |
Convert your Mini DisplayPort into HDMI and view your content on any HDTV, projector, or monitor with HDMI. Mirror or extend your desktop onto a second display to increase performance. Share your presentations for work and school with ease with the iAdapt 20.

Is the Kanex iAdapt 20 compatible with Mac OS X Lion (10.7) ?
Yes, the iAdapt 20 works excellent with Mac OS X Lion.
I ordered a Kanex iAdapt 20 - Mini DisplayPort to HDMI with 2 Channel Audio so I can use my Macbook to watch movies on my television. I just received it a few weeks ago and tried it a couple days ago. The display is working, but the audio is not working. I think there is something wrong with it. Can I send it back and get a new one, or can you tell me how I can get it to work.
It sounds like your havent set your audio output to the USB device. To do so follow these steps: System Preferences > Sound > Output You should now be able to choose the USB device output. I hope this has answered your question.
Will the iAdapt 20 work with the new Thunderbolt port?
Yes but keep in mind this product is design for Apple computers before April 2010 that has only video signal coming out of MDP port. If you have a newer Apple computer the Kanex iAdapt V2 will be a better solution for you.
Would i be able to use this to use my iMac 27" late 2010 model as a display for my Xbox 360 or PS3? Or would i instead have to buy a Kanex XD in oder to do this?
The MDPHDMIUSB is not a bi-directional device and will not allow you to use your iMac as a display. In order to do this you will need to use the Kanex XD. http://kanexlive.com/products/kanexXD.html Thank you.
i have connected iadapt20 to my mac book pro13 and my tv panasonic 46'' with hdmi port the video working very good dut the sound dont working, only from pc and not from TV please inform me about setup. thanks
Please verify that you have your sound settings correct. Please go to your System Preferences and then to the Sound section. Please choose the Output tab and under the output tab please ensure that Digital Output is selected, also the name of your display may display please select that. Internal speakers must not be selected. Please let us know if this addresses your issue. For additional info please view this guide: http://www.kanexlive.com/forums/showthread.php/180-No-Audio Thank you.
I have a 2009 Macbook Pro and a Panasonic Flatscreen HDTV. Would this cable be the only cable I need in order to connect both devices? Or is there another cable needed for this action? Thank you.
You will also need an HDMI cable to connect your MacBook Pro to your HDTV. Thank you.

Does the iAdapt 20 work with the pre-mid 2010 iMac models?
Please be advised that the iAdapt 20 will work with any system with a Mini DisplayPort and a USB slot. Thanks.
My adapter isn't working properly and the red light is off. Is there a way to reset it?
To obtain the best results, follow the enclosed instructions for set-up - Connect the HDMI cable first to sync to source followed by connecting the Mini DisplayPort for video, and lastly the USB for power. All ports must be plugged in before you power “on” the adapter.
How do I get rid of the black border around the edge of the TV display?
You will want to turn on the overscan function. To do so, go to system preferences, then “displays”, followed by “arrangements” and tick the “overscan” button. This will allow the image to output at full screen. Learn more about this feature on our blog at http://www.kanexlive.com/blog/2009/10/over-and-under-scan-hdtv-1080p.html
Will the adapter work in sleep mode or with my Macbook closed?
The adapter will not allow your Mac to enter sleep mode unless the USB port on the adapter is disconnected. Refer to your Mac settings for instructions on how to turn sleep mode off when display is in clamshell.
Is there a troubleshooting guide for further technical help?
Yes. Please visit www.kanexlive.com/blog/support/. It will provide a detailed list on how to connect and special set-up instructions.
