HDMI Splitters & HDMI Amplifiers
HDMI distribution amplifiers and HDMI splitters are designed and engineered to perform in commercial AV environments, but not limited to residential. Residential usage of amplifiers and splitters are moderate. However, commercial applications for restaurant bars, casinos, gymnasiums, sporting event venues and stadiums are a few places amplifying and splitting signals work great. These venues grant the integrator the ability to cascade a signal using multiple HDMI amplifiers and splitters.
A typical HDMI amplifier or HDMI splitter 1 in 2 out can connect a single cable box to an HDMI splitter’s input 1 and come out from 2 outputs to split the same signal to two displays. This box is your basic 2 way HDMI splitter. For larger venues such as restaurants or sports bars, you may want to use a 1x8 HDMI amplifier/splitter. A 1 input by 8 outputs HDMI distribution amplifier will allow you to take a single HDMI signal to 8 displays. If you’re a sports bar owner, this would be great if there is a playoff game that everyone wants to watch. A single cable box showing the game can be split to 8 displays around your sports bar to multiple zones for everyone to view.
In many cases, HDMI distribution amplifiers & splitters are HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) compliant with an EDID manager built in. Not all HDMI amplifiers incorporate these features - be sure that these things are included especially if your application involves connecting a new HDTV to cable boxes, DVD players or PC’s that require a secure connection to a compliant display.
Brands such as Kramer, Shinybow, Atlona, Gefen, Hall Research, TVOne, and Magenta are leaders in the AV market for producing superb HDMI distribution amplifiers and splitters. For more solutions, please contact a BZB Express representative if you have any questions regarding your application.
