The EMX-AMP 4K HDMI Audio Extractor has a built-in 50W audio amplifier for direct connection to 8-ohm speakers. It offers an extra line-level stereo audio input that you can mix with the HDMI audio. Control volume via RS-232 commands, front panel buttons, or an external rotary digital encoder.
The EMX-AMP offers an independent RS-232 output port used to control other devices. Typically, use to control the power on/off state of the video projector or TV to its output.
It features Full EDID management to learn, upload, download, emulate or pass-through the EDID from the connected display. It also features a USB port on the front panel used for configuring the device operation through a free Windows™ GUI available from http://www.hallresearch.com.
It is capable of passing commands from its RS-232 input to the RS-232 output. It can also store user defined ON and OFF commands to control devices connected to its RS-232 output such as to control power on/off function of display.
Detecting HDMI input automatically triggers the stored RS-232 commands or manually by user command (RS-232, WebGUI, Telnet), or contact closure. An IP-enabled version (EMX-I-AMP) is available, and it adds a Telnet and WebGUI. This enables the user to control the device through a PC or Smartphone. Telnet control and the serial interface uses the same commands.
