The Air 2K transmits HD content with almost zero lag between the source and TV utilizing 60 GHz WirelessHD based on SiBeam's 60 GHz technology. The device is equipped with phase-array beam-forming technology which scans a room automatically. It will find the best path from transmitter to receiver leveraging advanced radar technology utilized in fighter aircrafts - up to 60 times a second.

Wi-fi networks based on 2.4GHz and 5GHz are subject to interference have no way of remedying if disturbed, forcing to compress video to fit in their available bandwidth. The Air 2K is uniquely designed with professional grade technology up to 3Gb/s data rate to eliminate call-backs, save time on installation while offering the cool-factor consumers are looking for. DVDO's wireless configuration utility is available for software upgrades anytime.

FAQ

  1. WHAT'S THE RANGE OF THE AIR 2K?
The Air 2K’s range is up to  33 feet or 10 meters in direct or single bounced spaces. The unit has been tested for longer distances without issues, but may be dependent on the placement of the transmitter/receiver in the room.

  2. IN OPEN AIR, WILL THE RANGE OF THE AIR 2K BE LONGER?
Most definitely! The Air 2K can connect up to 66 feet (20m) in direct line-of-sight if there are no obstructions. Very efficient in open installations such as auditoriums.

  3. CAN THE AIR 2K'S SIGNAL TRAVEL THRU WALLS?
Signal transmission is dependent on the thickness and construction material of the wall. Air 2K performs best in an in-room install; however the device will not go through concrete  even at 60Hz radio frequency.

  4. WHEN THE LINK LIGHT IS ON, WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
When the link light is on, it indicates a few things; if the light is flashing slowly on either unit it means that the transmitter & receiver are trying to connect wirelessly. If the flashing light is fast paced, this is indicating the device is processing an AV signal. If the light is solid, this translates to a successful connection. It's imperative the Air 2K is getting video from an HDMI source that is linked to the transmitter and a TV connected to the receiver for a solid connection.

  5. HOW DO I KNOW WHICH IS THE TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER?
The transmitter has a DVDO logo and is labeled "Transmitter," in black. The receiver has a grey label marked, "Receiver."

  6. HOW COME MY AIR 2K IS NOT CONNECTING?
No connection usually means the transmitter and receiver are not within range. One way to troubleshoot is to bring the transmitter and receiver next to each other to verify they are both working. Also, make sure your HDMI source is plugged correctly into the transmitter, which has the DVDO logo; the receiver does not have a DVDO logo.
If connection continues to fail, try to reset both units. To do this, simply turn them both on and hold down the button labeled scan for each unit. Do this for about 10 secs or until the LEDs turn off. A good rule of thumb is to hold each of the buttons simultaneously on the transmitter and receiver. Finally, double check to make sure all your HDMI connections are firm and plugged in.

  7. DOES IT REALLY MATTER WHICH IS THE TRANSMITTER OR RECEIVER?
Yes, yes, yes!!! The transmitter is marked "transmitter" in black and it has a DVDO log. The transmitter hooks up to your HDMI source such as a PS4, Blu-Ray player, or AV receiver.  Your TV or projector connects to the receiver.

  8. CAN I MOUNT THE AIR 2K AND HOW?
The Air 2K includes 2 mounting brackets plus break-off tabs for the transmitter and receiver. Drywall screws and adhesive tapes (double sided) also come in the box. When mounting, it's imperative the transmitter/receiver are facing each other or towards a wall or ceiling to allow the radio frequency to bounce off the surface.

  9. DO I NEED THE TRANSMITTER & RECEIVER TO FACE EACH OTHER?
Direct line-of-sight will give the best connection results. The antenna points the mesh screen upward at a 45 degree angle when sitting on a flat surface. For best results, you'll want to keep the transmitter on a flat surface while the receiver is screwed vertically to a wall or your display.

  10. MY TV SAYS "NO CONNECTION", WHY?
The transmitter & receiver will have a fixed connection as long as they are in range. A connection may be momentarily lost when the user is switching inputs or even the resolution. Not to worry, the transmitter will re-connect automatically, usually 10secs at most.

  11. WILL THE AIR 2K WORK WITH 110V AND 220V?
The power supplies for the Air 2K are universal and will support international standard; however the prongs will only work for the US power receptacle. An EU adapter is required for countries outside the US.
Also, the Air 2K receiver is equipped with a micro USB port for power. What this will allow the user to do is  connect directly to a TVs USB connector via micro USB cable, that's if the TV can handle the current. For any reason your display us unable to supply power, the Air 2K has a USB AC power adapter included with the unit.

  12. WHAT DOES THE SCAN BUTTON DO FOR BOTH THE TRANSMITTER/RECEIVER?
Pushing the scan button on the transmitter for about 3 seconds changes the receiver that the transmitter is linked to. This is useful in scenarios with a single transmitter and multiple receivers.
If your application includes a single receiver and multiple transmitters, pushing the scan button on the receiver for about 3 seconds switches the transmitter that the receiver is currently linked to.
Also, if you press the transmitter scan button for about 10 seconds or until the LED turns off, the unit will restore to factory default and the transmitter will also look for the nearest receiver it can connect to.
On the other hand, holding the the scan button on the receiver until the LED turns off will restore it to factory default and then it will try to connect to the first transmitter it can locate.

The Air 2K performs as well as an HDMI cable, without the actual cable. Very low delay and high AV quality enables the Air 2K to perform exceptionally in gaming setups, other wireless technologies will not.

  15. WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF AIR 2K'S I CAN INSTALL IN A ROOM?
